SUBSEA CABLE EXPERTISE. OFFSHORE WIND CONFIDENCE.
Vistanord Engineering is a specialist subsea cable consultancy with a track record built on some of the most demanding offshore wind programmes in the world. Our engineers operate at the sharp end of cable design, route engineering, and installation analysis, from Baltic Sea pioneer developments to gigawatt-scale HVDC export systems off the coasts of New York and Suffolk. We are not a multi-discipline engineering house. We are a dedicated cable engineering practice, and that focus is what allows us to deliver technically rigorous, commercially sound outcomes that stand up to the highest levels of scrutiny.

PROVEN ON THE WORLD’S MOST DEMANDING OFFSHORE WIND PROJECTS
Our engineers have worked at the sharp end of cable design, route engineering, installation analysis, and project management, on projects spanning gigawatt-scale HVDC export systems off the coasts of New York and Suffolk, to pioneering inter-array cable design for the first offshore wind farm in the Baltic states. We know what it takes to deliver technically rigorous, commercially sound cable engineering alongside the world’s leading developers and installation contractors. That experience informs every engagement we take on.

OUR SERVICES
Vistanord Engineering provides specialist engineering and consultancy services across every phase of the subsea cable project lifecycle. Our services span fixed and floating offshore wind, marine energy interconnection, and general offshore infrastructure, all delivered in accordance with DNV, IEC, and ISO standards.
Project Portfolio
Our team has been directly involved in delivering cable engineering support on the following major offshore wind programmes, across the US East Coast, North Sea, and Baltic Sea.
◊ US East Coast 1,100 MW · 704 MW · 924 MW
♦ Cable design and route engineering
♦ Installation engineering
♦ Project and package management
Ørsted is the world’s leading offshore wind developer, and Vistanord supported three of their flagship US East Coast programmes representing a combined capacity of over 2.7 GW. Ocean Wind 1 off New Jersey, Revolution Wind serving Rhode Island and Connecticut as America’s first multi-state offshore wind farm, and Sunrise Wind, New York’s largest offshore wind project and the first in the US to deploy HVDC transmission technology. Across all three programmes, Vistanord delivered cable design, route engineering, installation analysis, and project management support at the heart of some of the most technically demanding cable scopes in the US offshore wind market.
◊ Baltic Sea, Lithuania 700 MW
♦ Inter-array and export cable design
♦ Burial risk assessment (CBRA)
♦ Route engineering
♦ Installation engineering
Ignitis Renewables is developing Curonian Nord, the first offshore wind farm in the Baltic states, a 700 MW project located 37 km off the Lithuanian coast designed to meet approximately a quarter of Lithuania’s electricity demand and central to the country’s energy independence strategy. Vistanord delivered a full-lifecycle cable engineering scope on this pioneer development, covering inter-array and export cable design and engineering, subsea cable burial risk assessment, route engineering, and installation engineering across the unique seabed and environmental conditions of the Baltic Sea. |
◊ North Sea, 69 km off Suffolk, UK 1,400 MW
♦ Export cable installation engineering
♦ Installation methodology support
♦ Cable route and protection engineering
Iberdrola’s East Anglia THREE is the largest wind farm in the company’s global portfolio, a 1,400 MW development in the North Sea forming part of the £6.5 billion East Anglia Hub. The project’s 320 kV HVDC export cable system spans 147 km offshore before making landfall at Bawdsey, Suffolk, connecting to a new converter station at Bramford. Backed by €4.1 billion in green project financing and targeting commercial operations in 2026, it represents one of the most technically advanced cable infrastructure programmes in UK waters. Vistanord delivered export cable installation engineering on this project.
